The Atlantic shore preserved in clay.
This Atlantic Surf Clam Clay blends Sculpey III with natural clam shell fragments hand-foraged along the beaches of Assateague, Maryland. The fragments add pearly tones, sandy textures, and a coastal shimmer that reflects the tides of the Atlantic.
Assateague is known for its windswept barrier island ecology, where shifting sands and shell beds create a living shoreline. The clam fragments lend subtle greys, whites, and buff tones, carrying the spirit of the Mid-Atlantic coast into every block.
Fired, the clay reveals delicate speckles and flecks of natural shell, evoking the beach at low tide.
Available in three formats:
- 2 oz block – compact sample infused with clam shell
- 8 oz block – extended quantity for larger sculptural projects
- 2 oz Sunburst Clay + Mold Set – includes a reusable mold to shape the clay into a radial sunburst, accentuating shell flecks in fired form
