Jennifer the Keeper of Memory – Female Stone Gargoyle – Clay & Quartz Sculpture – Kurgan Stelae Inspired

$120.00

This guardian figure is inspired by the Kurgan stelae—anthropomorphic stones carved and raised across the Eurasian steppe to honor the dead and guard ancestral lands. Female stelae, marked with arms and breasts, carried the memory of mothers, ancestors, and protectors whose presence endured across centuries.

This gargoyle is modeled after a real balbal (Stelae) on Khortytsia Island, Ukraine. This balbal dates back to 1200 AD and was likely carved by the Cuman people.

Formed in clay and embedded into Ozark Quartz, Jennifer rises from her stone base as if remembering her place in the lineage of guardians. Her watch has been long and loyal, and the earth has rewarded her by fusing her body with its own bedrock.

• ~8” tall
• Materials: Clay & Ozark Quartz
• Hand-sculpted guardian sculpture

Frequently Asked Questions

Imperfections, Shipment, and Custom Pieces

All pieces are handmade and one-of-a-kind. Pieces may have small imperfections, dimples, and blemishes. I try to be sure blemishes are included in the item’s photographs. Please keep this in mind as you order.

Pottery is fragile, so I package my pots carefully to avoid any items breaking in shipment. Sometimes, this can mean a large amount of shipping material is used. Boxes, shrink wrap, shredded paper, and bubble wrap are recyclable. Packing peanuts are biodegradable. Please recycle/biodegrade if possible!

Custom pieces can take about 4 weeks to create. I avoid delays as much as possible, but the kiln can have a mind of its own. I’ll notify you immediately if I expect any delays in the production process.
