The Silent Watcher is part of a family of guardians inspired by the Kurgan stelae of Eurasia. These ancient anthropomorphic stones were raised as memorials, protecting both the dead and the lands they inhabited. Their endurance across centuries is a testament to loyalty and guardianship.
This gargoyle is modeled after a real Stelae in northwest Italy. This Stelae dates back to 3000 BCE and was likely carved by the Lunigiana people.
Hand-formed from clay and rooted in Virginia green jasper, this sculpture captures the spirit of a timeless guardian. His form emerges from the earth, symbolizing the ancestral reward of merging with stone and soil after millennia of faithful watch.

Imperfections, Shipment, and Custom Pieces
All pieces are handmade and one-of-a-kind. Pieces may have small imperfections, dimples, and blemishes. I try to be sure blemishes are included in the item’s photographs. Please keep this in mind as you order.
Pottery is fragile, so I package my pots carefully to avoid any items breaking in shipment. Sometimes, this can mean a large amount of shipping material is used. Boxes, shrink wrap, shredded paper, and bubble wrap are recyclable. Packing peanuts are biodegradable. Please recycle/biodegrade if possible!
Custom pieces can take about 4 weeks to create. I avoid delays as much as possible, but the kiln can have a mind of its own. I’ll notify you immediately if I expect any delays in the production process.
